Authorities in Paris have declared a nighttime curfew in the areas surrounding Les Halles and Place de la Republique following ongoing unrest. A similar curfew was already implemented in Lille, France, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM Tuesday. Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu had previously urged other cities to consider enacting curfews, stating a firm commitment to restoring order. The curfew in Lille is in effect for two days, and also applies to the cities of Douai, Wattignies, and Denain. Following violent protests, city officials in Marseille have banned all gatherings. These measures come in response to widespread unrest and demonstrations across France.
