Colombian police have seized approximately 7,600 kilograms of cocaine intended for delivery to the Netherlands. The massive shipment, the largest cocaine seizure in Colombia in the last decade, was discovered during a routine inspection at the port of Cartagena. Authorities revealed the cocaine was concealed within packaging resembling powdered sugar. Colombian President Abelardo de la Espriella hailed the operation as a “historic blow to drug terrorism,” estimating the seizure represents roughly 75 million individual doses of cocaine prevented from reaching the streets. The Colombian police collaborated with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in the operation. President de la Espriella affirmed Colombia's continued commitment to rigorous enforcement against criminal and armed groups operating within the country.
