Mongolia’s President Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh continues his state visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, during which he and German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier jointly opened the “Chinggis Khaan and the World of the Mongols” exhibition. President Khürelsükh was welcomed by President Steinmeier and Elke Büdenbender at the “James Simon” gallery on Museum Island in Berlin, where the Director of the State Museums of Berlin, Matthias Wemhoff, presented the exhibition’s artifacts. The exhibition showcases over 30 years of archaeological research in Mongolia, presenting new discoveries and artifacts related to nomadic culture and the Mongol Empire. President Khürelsükh emphasized the exhibition fully represents the political, economic, cultural, and religious aspects of the Mongol Empire, and the 13th Century as a period that fundamentally changed the world. The joint Mongolian-German archaeological research in the Orkhon Valley and the ancient capital Karakorum is a significant symbol of the scientific and cultural cooperation between the two countries. Findings from Karakorum confirm its status as a major international hub for trade, religion, and culture, connecting East and West.
