The Central Bohemia Region in the Czech Republic is facing criticism for its novel marketing approach. The region is utilizing the unique names of its constituent towns – including Konětopy, Kozojedy, and Odřepsy – in a new presentation and advertising campaign. These town names are being employed as slogans and visual elements to refresh the region’s identity. While aiming for a creative and memorable presentation, the campaign has sparked controversy, specifically related to the use of the town names alongside critical commentary regarding animal welfare in those areas. The approach demonstrates a playful use of local identifiers but has elicited a negative reaction from at least some of the featured municipalities. The region has therefore altered its visual identity as a result of this campaign.
