Five political entities in Brno – KDU-ČSL, STAN, the ODS, TOP 09 and independent candidates coalition, Zelené Brno (Green Brno), the Pirates, and Za Lužánky – have agreed to form a governing coalition. The agreed-upon candidate for Mayor of Brno is Jakub Hruška, who led the coalition of five groups. Representatives of the parties announced the agreement to reporters on Tuesday, with a formal signing of the coalition agreement planned for Friday. The coalition is expected to hold 44 seats in the 55-member city council. This leaves the ANO movement in opposition with 11 seats. The new coalition aims to implement its policies and govern Brno effectively with a substantial majority.
