The British Ministry of Defence announced on Tuesday that London will deploy fighter jets on “defensive” missions to help Saudi Arabia protect itself against escalating attacks from the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen. The ministry stated the missions aim to contribute to protecting Saudi civilians and vital national infrastructure from aerial attacks. This will be achieved by deploying fighter aircraft. The deployment comes amid increased regional tensions and concerns over Houthi aggression. The move underscores Britain’s commitment to supporting the security of Saudi Arabia. This assistance is intended to bolster Saudi Arabia’s existing defence capabilities against ongoing threats. The announcement was first made by Hespress, a Moroccan online newspaper.
