Family farmers in Brazil, crucial producers of staple foods, are adopting Chinese artificial intelligence to modernize their businesses and ensure long-term viability. A five-year cooperation program between Brazil and China, established in September, aims to provide these smallholders—the foundation of Brazilian agriculture—with an AI boost. This initiative responds to a decade of decreasing employment and restricted access to reasonably priced technology within the sector. The partnership seeks to reverse this trend by equipping farmers with advanced tools for improved efficiency and productivity. Representatives from the Brazilian Agricultural sector are driving this effort. This collaboration highlights a growing relationship between the two countries focused on technological advancement in agriculture. Ultimately, the goal is to strengthen Brazil’s agricultural sector and support the livelihoods of its family farmers.
