Ilie Bolojan announced on Tuesday, during a plenary session of the Parliament of Romania, that the PNL will vote in favor of the investiture of the government led by Luca Niculescu, despite the liberals not being part of the new Executive. He framed the decision as “a vote of necessity” to end the political crisis, while simultaneously launching criticisms against the PSD. Bolojan accused the PSD of causing the downfall of the previous government without presenting feasible solutions. He expressed “low expectations” for the new Cabinet and voiced criticism regarding the activity of several proposed ministers. Bolojan stated a reformed state cannot be controlled like a feudal domain, implying concerns about ongoing governance practices. The move suggests a pragmatic approach from PNL despite reservations about the incoming administration.
