Alejandra Morales has been waiting since September 4th to fully assume her functions as the presidential delegate for Chañaral, in Atacama, following her appointment by President José Antonio Kast. Her credentials didn’t reach the Contraloría General de la República (CGR) until September 30th, initiating the formal process for acknowledgement. Despite 12 working days passing since submission, the CGR states that Morales’s case remains under review. This delay prevents Morales from fully exercising her duties as provincial delegate. The situation highlights bureaucratic hurdles within the Chilean government. As of today, over 45 days have passed since the initial announcement, and a resolution remains pending. This impacts the administration's ability to implement policies in the Chañaral province of the Atacama region.
