Đà Lạt is undertaking a 24-hour emergency cleanup operation to address a significant waste accumulation in central areas. The situation arose after the Đà Lạt waste treatment plant temporarily suspended waste acceptance, leading to piles of uncollected garbage. Hundreds of workers and numerous specialized vehicles have been deployed to expedite the removal and processing of the backlog. This effort aims to alleviate environmental pressures on the city, particularly during the peak summer tourist season. The waste buildup occurred over two days before the emergency response was initiated. Authorities hope the rapid cleanup will mitigate negative impacts on tourism and public health.
