Zoo Negara in Kuala Lumpur confirmed that all animals are safe following flash floods that occurred two days prior. The flooding was caused by heavy rainfall which led to an overflow from the Sungai Pandan and Sungai Kemensah rivers in Hulu Klang. Water from both rivers converged, exceeding capacity and inundating parts of the zoo. Authorities have stated no animals were harmed during the incident. Zoo Negara staff were quickly mobilized to ensure animal welfare and mitigate potential damage. The zoo is currently assessing and addressing any remaining effects of the floodwaters.
