A unique project fostering children’s independence and creativity is underway in Zlín, Czech Republic. The site formerly known as “Smurf Town,” a network of pubs, is being transformed into an adventure playground. Unlike traditional playgrounds, children will design and build structures like bunkers themselves, encouraging self-reliance and imagination. The initiative aims to provide a space where children can actively participate in creating their play environment. Kristina Frascaová is credited as the inspiration behind this Adventure Playground concept. The demolition of the old structures paves the way for a new era of child-led play and construction. This project promises a novel approach to recreation, prioritizing hands-on learning and imaginative building.
