Chinese automaker Wuling is preparing to launch its Darion multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) in Vietnam as early as September. The Darion will be available in both fully electric (EV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) configurations. Importantly, the vehicle will be locally assembled within Vietnam, potentially lowering costs for consumers. Wuling anticipates the EV model will offer a driving range of between 450 and 500 kilometers on a single charge. This new offering targets the growing demand for family-friendly vehicles and the increasing interest in electric and hybrid options within the Vietnamese market. The Darion’s arrival introduces further competition in the mid-size MPV segment.
