World Tennis has confirmed the continued suspension of the Russian and Belarusian national tennis federations, barring their participation in team competitions. This decision extends the existing ban imposed following the events in Ukraine. The International Tennis Federation, known globally as World Tennis, has rejected appeals to reinstate membership rights for the suspended federations. Consequently, teams representing Russia and Belarus will remain excluded from Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup events. The governing body cited ongoing concerns and the prevailing geopolitical climate as reasons for upholding the restrictions. This means athletes from Russia and Belarus are still unable to compete under their national flags in team events, though they can still participate as neutral athletes in individual tournaments under specific conditions. The suspension will remain in effect until further notice, subject to review based on evolving circumstances.
