From October 15th, motorcyclists and their pillion riders will have access to select departure car lanes at the Woodlands Checkpoint in Singapore. This move aims to improve traffic flow and provide more convenience for two-wheeled vehicle users. The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) announced the initiative, stating that facial recognition technology will be implemented for automated traveller clearance in these designated lanes. This technology will streamline the process, reducing waiting times for motorcyclists leaving Singapore via the Woodlands Checkpoint. The use of facial recognition is intended to enhance security while expediting immigration procedures. Motorcyclists and pillion riders are advised to observe directional signage when approaching the Woodlands Checkpoint to utilize the newly opened lanes. This is part of ongoing efforts to optimise traffic and improve the overall experience at Singapore’s land checkpoints.
