The Major League Baseball playoffs commenced with victories for both the New York Yankees and the Chicago White Sox. The White Sox received a significant morale boost on Tuesday with an inspirational letter from the Pope, leader of the world’s 1.4 billion Catholics, shared via their social media channels. Details of the letter’s content were not immediately disclosed, but the team highlighted its encouraging message. This papal support adds an unusual dimension to the start of the postseason for the Chicago team. The Yankees also advanced in the playoffs, demonstrating strong performance in their opening game. This sets the stage for an exciting playoff season as both teams continue their pursuit of a championship.
