Leaders of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) have signed an agreement supporting the development of the Nigeria-Morocco Atlantic Gas Pipeline (AAGP). The Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) was signed on July 19th in Freetown, Sierra Leone, during a summit of regional heads of state and government. This pipeline project stems from a strategic royal initiative. The AAGP aims to transport Nigerian gas to Morocco and potentially to European markets.
