The State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) reported a series of fatal incidents over the recent weekend. According to spokesperson Anete Strazdiņa, recovery operations were conducted for three separate individuals. The bodies were retrieved from various bodies of water across the country. These incidents coincide with a period where holidays typically see a rise in drowning statistics. The VUGD continues to monitor water safety as the summer season progresses. The information was officially released to the LETA news agency on June 21. Authorities remain concerned about the recurring nature of these seasonal tragedies.
