The Polish Ministry of Interior and Administration (MSWiA) has responded to reports of unauthorized groups approaching and demanding identification from foreign nationals in Warsaw. These groups, identifying themselves as “patrols,” have been observed at locations such as Warsaw Central Station. The movement “Defending the Polish Border” has claimed responsibility for these actions. MSWiA spokesperson Karolina Gałecka stated that impersonating law enforcement is illegal and will not be tolerated. Authorities are investigating the situation and emphasizing that only official personnel have the right to request identification. The actions have raised concerns about potential harassment and discrimination. The MSWiA has firmly rejected any such vigilante activity.
