Police in Vlaardingen have arrested a 27-year-old man from Vlaardingen on suspicion of involvement in an explosion at a hair salon. The incident occurred on August 6th, causing significant damage to the salon’s windows in the city center along the Rotterdamse haven. Fortunately, no one was injured in the blast, as reported by Rijnmond regional broadcaster. This arrest follows a series of incidents, including a shooting at a hair salon at the Liesveld shopping center last night, again without injuries, and an explosion damaging a salon on Westhavenkade last weekend. Authorities are investigating a possible link between the incidents and speculation suggests the attacks may be related to unfair competition among hair salons offering below-market prices. The police and Public Prosecutor’s Office are continuing their investigation and have not ruled out further arrests.
