The Vietnamese horror film 'Ma Xó,' released on June 5th, has quickly become a box office success, earning over 80 billion Vietnamese Dong (as of June 11th) with Lê Khánh and Tín Nguyễn starring. The film’s popularity has led to a landmark agreement with CJ ENM, a major entertainment conglomerate. CJ ENM has designated 'Ma Xó' as a core intellectual property (IP) and a key focus for developing horror content across Asia. This marks the first time a Vietnamese film has received such recognition from the company. Plans are underway to produce and develop projects based on 'Ma Xó' in the United States, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and Indonesia. The deal signals a growing interest in Vietnamese cinema within the international market and a potential for wider regional collaboration.
