Renowned Uruguayan journalist and broadcaster Víctor Hugo Morales has announced plans to retire in his homeland. He intends to reside in a property located between the coastal cities of Piriápolis and Punta del Este. Morales also expressed his desire to continue working in radio, specifically planning a broadcast operation in Maldonado. The veteran communicator revealed that political circumstances, namely the Uruguayan dictatorship, prompted his initial emigration to Argentina. He suggests he would not have left Uruguay were it not for the repressive regime. This move marks a significant personal decision for Morales after a long and distinguished career abroad. He anticipates a peaceful retirement focused on radio broadcasting within the Uruguayan landscape.
