The Venezuelan Film Festival will return from November 22nd to 26th, taking place in the Cinex theaters at the Parque Costazul shopping center in Margarita. President Karina Gómez Franco confirmed the festival’s resumption after overcoming censorship attempts and legal challenges. This year’s edition will be a double feature, showcasing films from both 2025 and 2026, with approximately 80 feature-length films – both fiction and documentary – alongside short films and university audiovisual productions. The festival will honor the late businessman Alexis Montilla of La Venezuela de Antier, and the production company Cinesa. Gómez Franco stated they will not allow “Venezuelan cinema to be extinguished by petty grievances.” The event marks a vital moment for the survival and celebration of cinematic art in Venezuela.
