Following recent earthquakes in Venezuela, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the Ministry of Health are transitioning towards a health system recovery phase. Initially, PAHO mobilized 33.5 tons of supplies and deployed 22 Emergency Medical Teams to address immediate needs. Current efforts now focus on rehabilitating damaged health infrastructure and bolstering the overall resilience of the Venezuelan health system. This shift signifies progress beyond initial emergency response, concentrating on long-term rebuilding. The collaboration aims to restore healthcare access and capacity affected by the seismic events. This coordinated approach is crucial for sustainable recovery and minimizing future vulnerabilities. The work builds on the first stage of emergency support provided to the nation.
