The United States is aiming to increase its engagement in Central Asia, positioning itself to “compete” with China’s growing presence in the region. This statement comes from US ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, as Secretary of State Marco Rubio prepares for a visit. The upcoming C5+1 ministerial meeting, hosted in Uzbekistan, between the US and the five Central Asian countries will serve as a platform to demonstrate American technological capabilities and innovation. Gor highlighted the intent to “showcase American ingenuity, American technology” during the meeting. The event will include representatives from over 200 entities. This initiative reflects a broader US strategy to counter China's expanding economic and political influence in Central Asia and bolster ties with nations in the region. The US aims to present itself as a viable partner for development and investment.
