Despite being the world’s strongest navy, American shipyards have suffered decades of decline, lacking the capacity for rapid construction and maintenance. South Korea, however, possesses leading-edge technology and extensive experience in shipbuilding. Czech Television gained exclusive access to the world’s largest shipyards in Ulsan, South Korea, where HD Hyundai builds massive tankers and container ships, alongside warships like destroyers, frigates, and submarines. A key advantage for South Korea is the synergy between its civil and military production lines, allowing for efficiency and innovation. This collaboration provides the US Navy with a crucial partner to address its shipbuilding needs.
