The United States is approaching the establishment of a production line for its F-47 sixth-generation fighter jet, according to a senior US Air Force official. Brigadier General Timothy Helfrich stated the F-47 is poised to be the world’s first operational aircraft of its kind. This development comes as the People’s Republic of China actively flight-tests two next-generation combat aircraft, designated the J-36 and the J-50. Helfrich highlighted the ongoing advancements in both nations’ aerospace capabilities during a virtual event hosted by the Mitchell Institute for Aerospace Studies. The US Air Force is prioritizing the rapid development and deployment of its advanced aircraft to maintain a technological edge. The competitive landscape between the US and China in military aviation is intensifying, with both countries investing heavily in next-generation fighter technologies.
