Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) announced that buses deemed unsafe despite possessing fitness certificates will not be allowed on the roads. This decision follows inspections revealing many buses are unfit for passenger transport. Buses failing inspection will be required to undergo repairs at designated garages. Following repairs, buses must receive clearance from the DMP before resuming service. DMP Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic) Md. Anisur Rahman stated this during a recent operation at the Mohakhali Bus Terminal. The initiative aims to improve road safety by removing dangerously dilapidated public transport vehicles from circulation. These measures are intended to protect commuters and enhance overall traffic management in Dhaka.
