A delegation from UNESCO, alongside the Chantal BIYA Social Vaccine team, visited the Nkolfolou Multimedia Center in Yaoundé on August 11, 2026, to assess its readiness for full operation. The visit aimed to evaluate equipment and finalize actions to support Cameroon’s national strategy for technology access and youth training. The center is part of a national network established under the Social Vaccine Program, promoting quality education, digital learning, research, and social inclusion. UNESCO’s National Coordinator, Jaji Rose Mbah Ateng, highlighted the program’s support for government efforts to improve access to education and modern technologies. The delegation inspected facilities, assessed progress, and identified remaining needs, including upgrading computer equipment for advanced learning. Recommendations were made to modernize some equipment while maintaining existing resources for basic training and enhancing communication through digital platforms.
