Ulaanbaatar’s annual “Khuree Tsam-Danzig Naadam” festival will proceed as planned on June 27th and 28th at Khui Doloon Khudag, despite the cancellation of all horse racing events. Deputy Mayor G. Jargalsaikhan announced the decision was made by the City’s Emergency Commission due to a recent outbreak of animal foot-and-mouth disease. The festival, aimed at promoting Mongolian culture and attracting tourism, will still feature traditional Mongolian wrestling, archery, and trade shows supporting local small and medium-sized enterprises. An art exhibition showcasing the history of Ulaanbaatar will also be displayed. The event will conclude with a performance by the Soyol-Erden ensemble, celebrating their 55th anniversary, at Sukhbaatar Square. Gandantegchinlen Monastery, a co-organizer, emphasized the festival’s importance as a preservation of Mongolian traditions and cultural heritage.
