Ulaanbaatar city officials have signed an agreement with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to construct a modern, four-season greenhouse near the Shuvuun Factory. The project, slated for implementation between 2026 and 2031, aims to strengthen agricultural production capacity and reduce the city’s reliance on imported vegetables. Discussions included plans for advanced greenhouse technology, infrastructure development, and training programs for Mongolian agricultural specialists in South Korea. Currently, Ulaanbaatar imports a significant portion of its fresh vegetable supply; the greenhouse is expected to address this need and enhance the competitiveness of Mongolian agricultural products. KOICA also highlighted its ongoing work to improve school zone safety in Ulaanbaatar, including detailed studies and design plans for ten school areas. This collaboration signifies a continued partnership focused on sustainable development and improved quality of life in the capital city.
