Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia is preparing for its annual Naadam festival with a large-scale floral display. City officials plan to plant over 584,940 flowers in 71 public spaces throughout the capital. The initiative, continuing a tradition of decorative flowerbeds, will focus on 25 different flower designs, with installations beginning this week in central areas. District budgets are allocated annually to expand these floral arrangements. A total of 6.6 billion Mongolian Tugrik has been budgeted for landscaping and green space maintenance in 2024, with 70-76% dedicated to upkeep and 24-30% to new green spaces, covering 140 hectares. The project aims to enhance the city’s aesthetic appeal in anticipation of the national celebrations.
