Two major road projects in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia have been postponed due to complaints filed regarding the tender processes. The projects include a 12.55-kilometer road from Emelt to Shuuvun Factory, and renovations to the road from Sapporo Intersection to Tavan Shar Intersection. Both projects had already undergone tender selection and budget approval, with estimated costs of 64.9 billion Tugrik for the Emelt-Shuuvun road and 8.2 billion Tugrik for the Sapporo-Tavan Shar renovations. The Ministry of Finance has instructed the Ulaanbaatar Road Development Agency not to sign contracts this year because of the disputes. Officials state that the tenders will be re-announced next year. The Emelt-Shuuvun project, including bridge construction, was slated for completion within two years.
