Ground drones operated by the Artan special unit of the Ukrainian Defence Intelligence (DIU) played a crucial role in supporting Ukrainian soldiers during the summer of 2026. These drones successfully evacuated 45 wounded Ukrainian soldiers from the front lines, providing critical medical transport. Beyond medical evacuations, the drones also facilitated the delivery of over 41 tonnes of essential supplies to troops stationed along the front. This operation demonstrates the increasing importance of unmanned systems in modern warfare and logistical support. The DIU's Artan unit has proven adept at utilizing ground drones for both evacuation and resupply missions. This initiative significantly contributes to the sustainment of Ukrainian forces engaged in active conflict. The successful deployment underlines Ukraine's innovative approach to battlefield challenges.
