A 34-year-old Ukrainian national, Mychajlo Hašuljak, knowingly disregarded a driving ban related to his epilepsy, leading to a fatal accident in Brumově-Bylnice, Zlínsko. Despite being aware of his condition and a medical prohibition on driving, Hašuljak continued to operate a vehicle. Last year, he veered into oncoming traffic during an apparent seizure, resulting in the on-the-spot death of a cyclist. The incident was described as playing “Russian roulette” with the lives of others. Hašuljak has been sentenced to two years in prison for his actions. The case highlights the dangers of ignoring medical advice and the consequences of driving with a condition that impairs one’s ability to safely control a vehicle. This tragic event occurred within the Zlínsko region of the Czech Republic.
