Ukrainian Ambassador to Poland, Vasyl Bodnar, has expressed frustration over the lack of Polish permits allowing Ukrainian teams to conduct search and exhumation work within Poland. Despite months of requests, no permits have been granted, hindering efforts to locate and identify remains, likely connected to historical events. Ambassador Bodnar highlighted the importance of this work for both countries, suggesting it’s crucial for addressing unresolved historical issues. The lack of cooperation is raising concerns in Ukraine regarding the sensitivity of the topic and the need for reciprocal access. This situation is impacting Ukraine's ability to conduct necessary investigations on Polish soil. The ambassador continues to engage with Polish authorities to resolve the issue and secure the required permissions. Securing even one permit would be a positive step forward, he stated.
