Ukraine has, for the first time, publicly displayed its British-supplied Rapid Ranger short-range air defense system. The system has been uniquely mounted on a Spanish-made off-road chassis, adapting it for Ukrainian terrain and operational needs. Ukrainian crews have nicknamed the system “close-range storm,” highlighting its intended role. Weighing 500 kilograms, the Rapid Ranger is designed to intercept targets that evade traditional radar detection. This deployment signifies Ukraine's continued efforts to bolster its air defenses against ongoing threats. The system’s adaptability and ability to fill radar gaps represent a significant tactical advantage. Its introduction marks a new capability in Ukraine’s fight for airspace control.
