Ukrainian forces are evaluating a real-time FPV drone detection system developed by American startup Surtr, known as ParallaxOS. The system is currently undergoing field testing within Ukraine, a nation facing increasing drone warfare. Surtr specializes in creating software to identify and track small, commercially available drones – specifically First-Person View (FPV) models – which have become prevalent on the battlefield. The technology aims to provide early warning and enhance countermeasures against these increasingly common and difficult-to-detect aerial threats. Testing includes assessing the system’s accuracy and effectiveness in a live combat environment. Photos and videos have been released documenting the deployment and operation of ParallaxOS in Ukraine. This represents a practical application of US technology aimed at bolstering Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
