Long-distance runner Harbert Kibet of Uganda has been provisionally suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) due to suspected doping violations. Laboratory tests revealed the presence of triamcinolone acetonide and exogenous steroids in Kibet’s sample. The AIU utilized Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry (IRMS) analysis to detect the prohibited substances. This suspension marks another doping case for Ugandan athletics, raising concerns about the prevalence of performance-enhancing drug use. The case will now be investigated further under AIU regulations. Kibet is now temporarily barred from all forms of competition. This follows a pattern of similar suspensions within the Ugandan athletic community.
