The Investing in Forests and Protected Areas for Climate-Smart Development (IFPA-CD) MAS Project is nearing completion of its two-year run in Uganda. Funded by the World Bank and operating under the Ministry of Water and Environment, the project promotes intensive, mixed-use agroforestry. As part of its concluding activities, the project distributed ruminant animals to farmers identified as leaders in implementing agroforestry systems in the Kagadi region. This initiative aims to support sustainable agricultural practices and climate-smart development. The project focuses on integrating trees with livestock farming to improve land use and environmental outcomes. The distribution of animals is intended to enhance the economic viability of agroforestry for these model farmers. This marks a key step in the project’s efforts to foster long-term sustainability within the agricultural sector.
