Uganda’s Bus Union has proactively taken steps to support the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which Uganda will co-host with Kenya and Tanzania. The union recently traveled to China to procure buses specifically intended for use during the tournament. According to Bus Union chairman Umar Kakaire Umar, providing improved transportation is crucial for a successful AFCON. This initiative aims to ensure smooth logistical operations for teams, officials, and fans. The investment demonstrates the union’s commitment to the event’s success and Uganda’s readiness to host. Better transport infrastructure is recognized as a vital component of hosting a major international sporting event like AFCON.
