Three men were rescued from the Tuul River near Ulaanbaatar after becoming trapped with two vehicles in floodwaters early this morning. Emergency responders received a distress call at 5:38 AM reporting the individuals – identified as B, E, and T, aged 34, 34, and 33 respectively – were stranded on the western side of the Songsgol Bridge in the 20th district of Songinokhairkhan. Floodwaters are impacting several rivers across Mongolia, including Terelj, Tuul, Sognoor, Balj, and others, with water levels exceeding 5-45 cm. Heavy rainfall continues in the Tuul River basin, prompting weather authorities to issue flood warnings and advise caution. The rescued men were safely extracted from the floodwaters and taken to a secure location. Authorities urge residents to be aware of the increasing risk of flooding due to ongoing rainfall.
