The Turkish Navy recently conducted a large-scale naval exercise demonstrating the capabilities of its domestically-developed heavy torpedo and anti-ship missiles. During the live-fire drill, the navy successfully deployed both weapon systems simultaneously. The target was a decommissioned vessel, which was effectively destroyed, reportedly split in two by the torpedo. This demonstration highlights Turkey’s growing self-sufficiency in defense manufacturing and its naval modernization efforts. The exercise showcased the effectiveness of the new torpedo in a realistic combat scenario. Details of the exercise were released by Yonhap News Agency, based in Seoul.
