Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı announced that the country has experienced its wettest season in the past 66 years. This significant rainfall has led to dams reaching full capacity and replenishing farmlands with essential water resources. Yumaklı emphasized that the anticipated 140 million tons of plant-based production is a tangible result of these favorable conditions. He stated, “Our dams are full, our lands have access to water,” highlighting the positive impact on agricultural prospects. The increased water availability promises a substantial boost for Turkey’s agricultural sector and food security. This development follows periods of drought and water scarcity in certain regions. Officials are optimistic about a productive agricultural season ahead thanks to the replenished water reserves.
