The tunneling machine ‘Micaela’ has successfully arrived at the Morales Duárez station as part of the Line 4 branch expansion of the Lima and Callao Metro. This marks a significant milestone in the ongoing construction of the metro network. ‘Micaela’ will now proceed towards the Carmen de la Legua station, continuing its tunneling work. Approximately 778 meters of excavation remain to complete the tunnel for this branch of Line 4. This achievement contributes to the larger effort of expanding Lima’s public transportation infrastructure. The project aims to improve connectivity and reduce traffic congestion within the metropolitan area. Completion of the tunnel will bring the metro closer to serving more residents and easing commutes.
