A tram collision on the Erasmus Bridge in Rotterdam injured fifteen people, one critically. The incident occurred around 11:10 AM when one tram was struck from behind by another, causing it to derail. Initial reports of eighteen injuries and two critically injured individuals were later revised downwards. Witnesses described a forceful impact, with debris scattered across the bridge. Emergency services freed the critically injured person who was initially trapped. Two cars were also reported damaged in the collision, and the bridge is currently closed to all traffic, disrupting tram lines 3 and 5, as investigators work to determine the cause of the accident. The RET, Rotterdam’s public transport operator, has not yet commented on the cause.
