Rail communication to and from Kurigram district has been temporarily suspended after a sand-laden truck overturned and derailed a section of track in Rajarhat upazila. The incident occurred on Thursday, June 18th, near a petrol pump along the Kurigram-Tista road. The truck reportedly lost control and veered onto the railway line, causing displacement of the tracks. As a result, the Kurigram Express intercity train was affected. Authorities are currently working to clear the wreckage and restore rail services. The disruption impacts connectivity between Kurigram and the rest of the country, and the extent of the repair timeline remains unclear. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the accident.
