A case of alleged sexual abuse is shaking the Keur Issa neighborhood in Thiès, Senegal. Police at the Médina Fall station have arrested a man living at the child’s father’s home following a complaint by the mother. The suspect reportedly confessed to acts dating back to 2021. The case began when the mother, separated from the child’s father, hosted her daughter for a stay in Tivaouane, during which the girl revealed the alleged abuse occurring at her father’s home in Thiès. The child identified a man residing in the same house who works as a chamberlain for her father. After being alerted, the mother contacted the police on October 1, 2026, and the minor provided a detailed account that supported the accusations. Following her statement, police arrested the suspect, who is now in custody while the investigation continues to determine the full extent of the alleged abuse and establish responsibility. He remains presumed innocent until proven guilty.
