The quiz show “De Slimste Mens” (“The Smartest Person”) will resume its current season tonight with a tribute to the late jury member Paulien Cornelisse, who passed away yesterday at the age of 50 from cancer. Despite her recent passing, Cornelisse had already completed filming all of her appearances for the current season months prior. Yesterday’s broadcast was cancelled out of respect. Tonight’s episode, set to air at 9:30 PM, will feature host Herman van der Zandt commemorating her death. A double episode will air on Friday, followed by the remainder of the season proceeding as scheduled, a decision made in consultation with Cornelisse’s family according to KRO-NCRV. Cornelisse joined the one-person jury for her third season, having succeeded Maarten van Rossem in 2025, and had announced she would wear a “hat or cap” during the show due to hair loss from chemotherapy.
