The death toll from severe weather and flooding in Thailand has risen to 23, with at least four fatalities occurring in the capital, Bangkok. Water levels in flooded areas of Bangkok began to recede slowly on Monday after heavy rainfall throughout the weekend. Thai authorities report conditions have improved enough to accelerate water drainage efforts, though numerous neighborhoods and major roads remain submerged. Approximately 700,000 people in Bangkok have been affected by the floods, according to the Bangkok Flood Control Center. Air travel is significantly disrupted, with Thai Airways cancelling both domestic and international flights through Wednesday due to access difficulties to the airports. Passengers are advised to verify their flight status and allow extra travel time to reach the airports in Thailand.
